World Consumer Rights Day Observed in Safdharjang Enclave, New Delhi

New Delhi: 16th March Dignity India, a in collaboration with Citizens Awareness Group & Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) observed world consumer rights day in recreation cum library center, Safdarjang Enclave New Delhi on 15th March 2015. This year WCRD theme is Healthy Diet. The program was started with Ganesh Vandada. Sh Som Datt Bharti MLA of the area was chief guest and Sh Anant Sharma President Consumer Confodation of India Presided over the event. The Program was attended by 100 consumers which included senior citizens, housewife’s, govt. employees, NGOs etc.

Sh Arun Kumar President Dignity India in his welcome address advised the consumer to fight for the rights and collect bills on every purchase so that if found defective we can take legal action by filing the case in consumer court.

Sh Desh Deepak Deputy Director General Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) spoke about the standardization of goods. He informed the audience that they should purchase genuine items with BIS label.

Sh Ram Gopal Sharma Chief Editor Alokparv newspaper spoke about the rights as enshrined in the consumer protection act 1986. Smt Madhu Kaushal spoke about the Ill Effects of Tower radiation installed by the mobile companies near residential n educational area.

Sh Anant Sharma President Consumer Confodation of India said in today’s world the condition of consumer is not good and he is exploited by everyone in the market. So educating the consumers on various subjects and updating the statutory provisions of the constitutions is important. He advised the consumers to build a vigorous movement at national level.
Sh Som Datt Bharti MLA who was chief guest of the occasion complemented dignity India for such a campaign and offered his full personal as well as administrative support in such programs.

Sh Surrender Verma Chairman Citizens Awareness Group Chandigarh Proposed vote of thanks and said that they will continue to work with Dignity India in rural as well as urban areas of New Delhi and they will be in touch with the people of Delhi to solve their cases by taking with the concerned authority and if needed in the consumer court.

World Consumer Rights Day which falls on 15th March every year is an annual occasion for celebration and solidarity within the international consumer movement.

Participants observe the day by promoting the basic rights of all consumers, demanding that those rights are respected and protected. They also protest about the market abuses and social injustices which undermine them.

The theme of this year’s celebration according to consumer international is Consumers Right to Healthy Food.

Entrepreneurship Sensitization Day” organized by Aryans Group

Aryans Group of Colleges organized one day “Entrepreneurship Sensitization Day” at its campus today. The event was organized to introduce the entrepreneurial mindset to the students. The seminar was attended by the students of B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Ed, GNM, BA etc. Mr. Paramjit Singh, Principal Consultant In- Charge, Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development was the Key Note speaker on the occasion. Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event.

Mr. Paramjit Singh while interacting with the students said that the global meltdown has affected many economies adversely but as India is largely a domestically driven economy, impact is less on the Indian economic system. Also Indian banks are adequately capitalized and strong institutions. Hence taking advantage of those students should become job creators, rather than job seekers.

He further said that the event aims to create opportunity for enthusiastic students with an entrepreneurial bent of mind, to come up with innovative ideas and channelize their efforts to give birth to new ventures. To provide exposure to its students Aryans Group has included interactive sessions with foreign collaborated universities & faculty in its curriculum.

Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association organizes “Manthan”

On the completion of around 20 years, Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA) organized Manthan at Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17, Chd today. The function was attended by Chancellors/Chairmen of many renowned Universities/Colleges of Punjab. Principal Secretary, Technical and Higher Education, Sh. R K Verma, was the Chief Guest while President, PUTIA, Dr. J.S Dhaliwal presided over the event. Vice President, PUTIA, Dr. Anshu Kataria was the moderator of the event.

Renowned educational groups of Punjab who have worked hard in last 20 years were honored on the occasion. The prominent groups were Adesh Group, Sukhmani Group, Sri Sai Group, SUS Tangori, IET Bhaddal, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Chitkara Univ, Desh Bhagat University, Rayat Bahra, Bhai Gurdas Group, Lala Lajpat Rai, Doaba Group.

Sh. R K Verma while addressing the experts of the education industry said that institutes in Punjab are promoting Technical education in their respective fields efficiently. There is a need to put additional efforts by Colleges, Universities and Government in uplifting Punjab to emerge as a destination and prosperous state in the field of Education. The academic standards should be raised in order to make Punjab as the capital of India.

President, PUTIA, Dr. Dhaliwal while appraising the participation of PUTIA members in various projects said that the association together has fought with many regulatory bodies/Government/Affiliated Universities in the interest of students, Parents and colleges. Twenty years ago Punjab was amongst the poorest state in providing technical education.

Vice President, PUTIA, Dr. Anshu Kataria assured PUTIA members that with the blessings of the senior members the young entrepreneurs will take PUTIA to greater heights in the year 2015.He applauded the role of senior members for their hard work, dedication, contribution and endless efforts for the betterment of Education Industry of Punjab.

It is to be mentioned that Chancellors of many renowned Universities like Dr. Madhu Chitkara (Chitkara Univ), Sh. Satnam Singh Sandhu (CU), Dr. Zora Singh (Desh Bhagat University), Dr. J.S. Dhaliwal (Guru kashi University), Mr. Sandeep Kaura (Rayat Bahra), Er. S.K. Punj; Dr Naresh Nagpal (Sri Sai Group) etc were also present on the occasion.
